For Our Readers:

This is the weekly magazine you love to read! From quirky news tidbits to the witty comic "Chester Fried, Psy.D.". With Coffee Bytes we invite you to relax, pick up a copy, and enjoy yourself in doing whatever it is you do while you read us. Like to read in a restaurant... between bytes? Go ahead! Prefer to take it to the park and work on that sudoku puzzle? Dare ya! Be sure to check out our generous sponsors in every issue, and if you see something you like, let 'em know where you saw their ad. Here's a brief rundown of our sections:

Coffee Bytes Review Series -

Here's your dose of things to do, see, taste, feel, and hear around Michigan City. Although not a regular feature, when it does make an issue you're sure to get your money's worth. You'll know what to try and what to avoid. Have an idea for a review? Use the forum or contact page and I'll try and get something lined up.

Coffee Bytes Interview Series -

This section of articles helps set us apart from the big boys. Interviews with Michigan City citizens, business folk, and entertainers - posing the thought provoking questions normal mass media just doesn't go. These are the things we're all curious about, but in day-to-day life don't get the opportunity to ask.

Say Wha? -

Every day something extraordinary happens on our planet, so we let loose those news stories that slip through the cracks of major mediums. Not all the world's news carries a smile, but we'll do our best to find something that just might put a grin on your face or make you go "wow!".

Today In History -

Countless events occur every day - some worth noting, others not so much. Here we highlight some interesting turns of events that may have helped shape how we live our lives today.

To-Do List -

Watched your favorite DVD a hundred times? Beat the latest videogame in a day? Just plain bored? Fear no more! The 'To-Do List' section offers up some good 'ol fashioned local fun. Just about anything goes as long as it's tied in with Michigan City. Music, dance, art, festivals, sports, conventions - you get the idea. If people enjoy it, we want to help spread the word. Life is too short to vegetate staring at a screen all the time.

Bytes of Zen -

"Confucious say...", or "he who...", maybe some "knock, knock..." - ok, maybe there's no jokes in this section, but there is still much to be had. Take advice from someone who problably died a long time ago. No sense in making the same mistakes twice, eh? Learn from those that came before and try to apply it to your life and see what you can get out of it.

Sudoku -

If the thought of staring at a number grid for hours turns you on, then this game is for you (it's also been prescribed for Minesweeper addiction). Don't know how to play? Here's a quote from the Wikipedia.org Sudoku page: "The objective is to fill a 9×9 grid so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3×3 boxes (also called blocks or regions) contains the digits from 1 to 9 only one time each. The puzzle setter provides a partially completed grid". There you have it, happy Sudoku-ing!

Chester Fried, Psy.D. -

Ok, so things may start to get a little weird from here on out. Don't be frightened though, it's just special effects. Welcome to the world of Chester Fried: he's not so sure where he's going, and not so sure where he's been. If that doesn't make sense, then you'll just have to see the next installment. Whether it's poking fun at people, things, events, or himself, Chester has a watchful eye on the world around him. Don't be fooled though; his physical simplicity sometimes only heightens the true humor and meaning of the things he does. Offensive? Nah, it's just life as usual, albeit slightly twisted.

What would you like to see? "Coffee Bytes" is, and forever will be a work in progress. Throw us some ideas or (constructive) comments, and who knows, you just might see it in a future edition. We're working to keep you reading!
